Our Take

One of the first things we look for with any credit card offer is first, its affordability. Lower fees, better interest rates, and rewards that matter tell us what we need to know about whether it’s a strong financial tool. Next, we want to know who’s behind the offer. When Scotiabank and American Express come together, consumers instantly feel at ease knowing they have the backing of two of the biggest financial brands in the world. Finally, we want to know what those rewards mean to us in our everyday life.

If you’re a traveler who appreciates big savings, whether you’re on a road trip, on a flight to another country, or sailing the seas on a luxurious cruise, this card is the one you’re looking for. The Scotia Rewards points allow card members to build their rewards points fast so that they can make use of them sooner.

Cardmembers like the idea of having a choice. That’s why you can book your travel plans through our customer service team or you can take matters into your own hands and create your own dream itinerary. Either way, you can easily apply your rewards points to maximize the savings. You can even combine your rewards with charges to your gold American Express – the choice is yours.

You’ll save 20 percent or more at more than 18,000 hotels around the world; you also get the benefit of complimentary room upgrades, too. If they’re available, they’re yours for the taking. It’s easy to feel like royalty with complimentary breakfast, late checkouts, and concierge service and it’s all yours when you use your Gold American Express Credit Card.

Helped to save when i was travelling

I’m a frequent traveler and I’ve been looking for a great travelling card with all the extra benefits. While no credit card comes without fees, this card is something else entirely. Even though the annual fee is high, the card offers a range of rewards, including all the exclusive benefits of the American Express. I had a payment problem at the airport, so I gave their customer support a call and was surprised by their effectiveness. APR is a bit steep too, but hey, you can’t have it all. All in all, it’s a great credit card that I would definitely recommend.
